
The gender that is represented in this ad is female. The race it is aiming at is caucasian. The person is roughly 20-30 years of age and somewhat classy. Their facial expression is indeferent. The camera angle is like right at the person at a close to medium range. The camera looks as if it is at chest level. The lighting looks artificial because she, the cigerette, and the smoke are the only things visible. Certain parts of the ad are not highlighted. There are no shadows. The colors use are black and white. There is text that is like a times new roman font that is the only font used at a smaller size the color is white and the text says "Kill a Cigerette and Save a Life. Yours." There is no product trying to be sold. The assumptions are that cigerettes will kill you. There is no assumption about race. There is no assumptions about class. The possible concequencies are that you wille if you smoke. It doesnt create an unrealistic expectation for people because anyone can stop smoking if they try hard enough. This add isnt socialy responsible because it isnt going to make someone stop that doesnt want to.

This is a very appealing ad for more than one reason. it is very visual and also if you watch comecials it has the above the infulence symbol in it. Which is appealing to teens.

This is a very abrubupt ad that basicaly says that your killing yourself with smoking and it would just be faster to use a gun.
The only critique I offer are as follows:
ReplyDeleteIt would have been nice to see three different posts and for the last two deconstructions to be as thoughtful as your first one (the black and white one) which by itself was a fairly complete deconstruction based on the MEF tool that you were asked to use.
